Every figure comes from official UK advice. See how we source our figures.

Tone

We write like a sensible neighbour who has read the official guidance: short sentences, checklists and reassurance. We don't use fear to sell anything, and we don't use fake urgency or countdown offers.

Products

We don't test products, and we never say we have. Our buying guides compare published specs against official guidance. Each one says at the top what we compared products on, and every heading that names a "best" product says why.

Health and safety

We signpost medical questions to the NHS, your GP or pharmacist, your equipment supplier and the Priority Services Register. Pages about heating, cooking or generators without mains power carry a carbon monoxide warning. Pages about flooding carry a flood safety warning.
